Group Workshops

“Tell us something about yourself.”

Have you ever entered a meeting only to be greeted by a long introduction of truths, “getting to know yous”, and fun facts that aren’t actually all that fun?

Our group workshops instead take a more matter-of-fact, human approach to you and your team. No role-playing, no on-the-spot awkward activities: just fresh ways of looking at your business’s productivity and people’s approach and mindset to their day-to-day.

In-company workshops that actually work

No business benefits from putting its teams in high-stress, low-reward environments. Yet it’s all too easy when time gets short and deadlines start looming for creativity and composure to go out the window and workplace-wide stress to creep in.

Our in-company workshops are an ideal way to provide a group of people from within the same organisation with a strong grounding in the principles, behaviours and tools they need to improve performance and learn how to access a more focused and relaxed state of mind.

Our approach

Every business is different, which is why our group workshops are uniquely tailored to your organisation size and structure. We’ll take the time to identify where your people might lack, knowledge, skills, clarity or focus, and we’ll use the Personal Best lifecycle of work to narrow down exactly what your organisation needs to empower the individuals within it.

The lifecycle of work

  1. Capture

How do you stay on top of the constant stream of ‘stuff’ coming into your world? We’ll explore tools and thought processes that will help you capture the ideas and inputs that show up in your world so that nothing gets lost or forgotten about, and how to handle any backlogs that you’ve accumulated too!

2. Define

One of the key ways you add value in your work is figuring out what to do, and how to do it. We’ll show you how to do this sooner and more efficiently so you’re never left looking at a tricky task or project and putting it off for weeks on end.

3. Park

Not everything can be done immediately, so you need a place to store those upcoming tasks. We’ll explore different options for tracking your to-dos and cover best practice calendar management so you know exactly who and what is coming up next.

4. Choose

When your work environment is constantly changing, how do you pick what to do first? We’ll show you an easy and intuitive way of prioritising your tasks so that you can be confident you’re working on the things that add most value, rather than responding to “latest and loudest”.

5. Do

When it comes to actually doing the work, you need to be able to manage both existing tasks with the new, ad-hoc things that show up. We’ll explore how to balance the demands of meetings and time at your desk, handle the inevitable interruptions and keep focused on longer term goals.

6. …You?

What can I expect from a Personal Best group workshop?

From duration and group size to post-workshop support, here are our commonly asked questions, answered.

  • Around 12 people is the sweet spot from a learning design perspective. It’s a big enough group to get a range of opinions and get some good discussions going, but it’s small enough that everyone is able to contribute. We do sometimes work with smaller or larger groups so speak to us if you have a particular requirement.

  • Our most popular format is a one-day workshop, but for people who really want to cover all the bases we have a two-day version. We also have our Mini Workshops for bite-sized single topic sessions.

  • After a workshop we’ll ask you what you plan to do differently or better, and then we’ll follow up a few weeks later to check in and provide more advice if you need it. Whatever the group size or duration, we follow up personally by email with every member of the group to support progress, provide help and reassurance and to build ongoing commitment. You can also come back to us at any time in the future if you have more questions.

  • Yes. An example of a specific group workshop is our maternity return to work programme for new mothers, but we can host a variety of workshops depending on your group's needs.

  • We can, and we do! Our hybrid model is designed to give your team all the perks of our individual coaching, with the foundations of our group workshop.
