Julie is the founder of Personal Best, and a workshop leader. Personal Best's mission - "developing people, potential and performance" - directly reflects her own personal approach and style.

Her warmth, commitment and energy combine to inspire her workshop participants, and her in-depth knowledge of her subject provides them with confidence. Julie also takes the lead in talking to prospective clients.

Julie is Personal Best's longest-standing practitioner of the personal productivity methods we now teach, having first met David Allen, and having been trained and coached by him and his staff, in 1999 - the days before GTD was called GTD or the book "Getting Things Done" had been published.

Before founding Personal Best, Julie held senior management positions in Learning and Development at Goldman Sachs and at British Airways. She has a no-nonsense, practical appreciation of what it takes to get real work done in the real world, having established an enviable track record of building and leading teams in various senior line management roles at British Airways. Julie worked in customer operations, engineering, catering and purchasing before entering HR.

Julie is a "people person" - she collects them, in both her personal life and her professional life. Many of Personal Best's clients have been with us for a long time, often through different job roles with different organisations.

Having graduated with a 2:1 in Modern Languages, Julie speaks good French and near-fluent German (though she claims to be a little rusty). After completing the Cranfield Executive MBA in 1995-96, she applied her new-found knowledge of MBA courses by re-inventing British Airways' in-house course.

She spends much of her spare time playing with trains, jumping in puddles and acting out light sabre fights - entirely to keep her young son happy, of course. Since becoming a mother, her enthusiasm for skiing is as strong as ever. One noticeable change is that where in the past the emphasis was on sheer speed ("where's the fall line gone?") her style has mellowed somewhat since acquiring family responsibilities.

She says: "I have the best job in the world! I just love helping people regain control over their manic, busy lives."

Meet the rest of our team.
